Each May, our nation celebrates Older Americans Month .
More than ever before, older Americans are working longer, trying new things, and engaging in their communities. They’re taking charge, striving for wellness, focusing on independence, and advocating for themselves and others. What it means to age has changed, and OAM 2017 is a perfect opportunity to recognize and celebrate what getting older looks like today.
At the Sedona Community Center, votes were cast by staff, the Board and our Community Lunch guests to name our own Older Adult of the Year award. Lenore, who has been volunteering and coming to the center for years, was the winner by a landslide. We love you Lenore, and wish you many more years of participation at the Sedona Community Center.
